CAS Homebuyers Tree Reports - The "Mortgage Module"

25th April 2008

This will be the first time that this seminar has been delivered outside of Myerscough College in Preston for 6 years.

TREES AND MORTGAGE / INSURANCE REPORTSTraining module for consultants offers lenders and insurers a unique opportunity to effectively and quickly assess the potential for vegetation to influence building foundations throughout the UK. The course was devised by OíCallaghan & Associates, (now OCA) a leading consultancy practice with the support and co-operation of:

  • The Building Research Establishment
  • The International Society of Arboriculture

The course provides attendees with detailed training on clays, climate, buildings and report writing.

THE COURSE PROVIDES A STANDARD REPORT FORMAT TO CONSULTING ARBORICULTURISTS. THE ADVANTAGES TO THE LENDERS WILL BE ENORMOUS.

The response time to the client will be improved - 48 hour delivery, if requested, and results by fax, when required. The report format is fixed and this allows easy dissemination of conclusions by lending employees.

1.       Full tree survey

2.       Soil investigation and soil moisture deficit analysis

3.       Tree work specification

4.       Advice on suitable tree works contractors,if requested

5.       Signing off tree works

The fee implication to the client is structured and standard across the country.Professional Indemnity is always provided and proof of cover is a requirement of CAS Professional Membership.

Unnecessary tree works are avoided, maintaining the property vegetation and protecting the local amenity. Potential conflicts with local authorities where trees are subject to tree preservation orders will be reduced and Arboriculturists are now available to lenders in most areas.

The standard report format has been licensed and as such will be updated by common agreement as new information becomes available.

LENDERS AND INSURERS WILL BE ABLE TO IMMEDIATELY DISSEMINATE RECOMMENDATIONS WITH THEIR EMPLOYEES FACED WITH ONLY ONE FORMAT
